Maria Keldorfer

Maria Keldorfer was an Austrian soprano and coloratura soubrette who studied at the Mozarteum in Salzburg and in Munich and Berlin, making her debut in 1903 at Salzburg as Olympia in Offenbach's Les contes d'Hoffmann. She was a member of the Dresden Court Opera from 1905 to 1913, creating the Slave in the premiere of Strauss's Salome in 1905 and the First Orphan in Der Rosenkavalier in 1911, and appeared at the Salzburg Mozart festivals of 1906 and 1910 and as a guest at the Vienna Court Opera in 1909. After 1913 she lived in Berlin and Hanover, working chiefly as a concert singer, before returning to Salzburg.
