Synopsis
Stiffelio, a Protestant minister, comes home from his preaching to the castle of his father-in-law, Count Stankar. His wife Lina has been unfaithful to him with the nobleman Raffaele, and when Stiffelio hears of a man seen escaping from the castle at night, he chooses not to learn who the woman was.
