Iorio Zennaro
Birthplace: Venice, Italy
An Italian tenor, born in Venice, who studied at the city's Conservatorio Benedetto Marcello and at La Scala's school for young singers. He made his debut at Venice in 1980 in Mozart's Bastien und Bastienne, and in 1982 won Milan's Enrico Caruso competition. His career took in most of Italy's leading houses and reached Paris, Sydney, Beijing and Tokyo, in a repertory running from Gluck and Rossini to Cassio and Pong and Pang in Turandot. In 1994 he created Prunier in the revised La rondine at Turin. He recorded Rossini's L'inganno felice and L'occasione fa il ladro under Marcello Viotti.
