Phyllis White
A singer who spent six seasons at the Metropolitan Opera, from her debut in Lohengrin on 1 December 1916 to Zazà on 3 March 1922, seventy performances in all. She was one of four high-school girls in the world premiere of Cadman's Shanewis in March 1918, and that December created the novice in Suor Angelica. She sang in the world premiere of Wolff's L'oiseau bleu in December 1919, and was Claretta when Zazà was first given at the Met the following month.
