Veni Warwick
A singer who spent ten seasons at the Metropolitan Opera, from her debut in Tannhäuser on 13 November 1912 to Zazà on 22 April 1922, 117 performances in all. She was one of four high-school girls crossing the stage in the world premiere of Cadman's Shanewis in March 1918, and that December created one of the lay sisters in Suor Angelica. She sang in the Met's first Zazà in January 1920. In September 1924, billed as a contralto, she sang an aria from La Gioconda at a Central Park concert under Hugo Riesenfeld.
