A French soprano who spent her whole career, from 1894 to 1938, at the Opéra-Comique. Born Louise-Jeanne Tiphaine in Paris, she studied at the Conservatoire and made her debut as Isabelle in Le pré aux clercs. She created a long run of roles at the house, among them Musetta in the first Paris La bohème in 1898, Noémie in Massenet's Cendrillon, Irma in Charpentier's Louise, Fiamina in Grisélidis and Fatouma in Rabaud's Mârouf, savetier du Caire.
