Rudolf Schmalnauer

Rudolf Schmalnauer was an Austrian baritone and Kammersänger who sang at the Dresden State Opera from the 1923/24 season. His parts there included Bardolph in Verdi's Falstaff, Daniello in Krenek's Jonny spielt auf and Alcindor in La bohème. He created Djura in the premiere of Strauss's Arabella in 1933, where printed cast lists give his forename as Robert, and Morbio in the premiere of Die schweigsame Frau two years later.
