Hansford Rowe

Hansford Rowe was an American character actor who played the Detective in Houston Grand Opera's 1976 Porgy and Bess. A University of Richmond theatre graduate and Navy veteran of the Pacific war, he moved into television from 1967, and spent the following decades in guest and recurring roles across American series including Dark Shadows, The Guiding Light, V and its sequel, L.A. Law, Six Feet Under, Will & Grace and The Office. His stage work included a 1980 Broadway run in Nuts, earning a Drama Desk nomination, and his films included Missing, Baby Boom and Dante's Peak.
