Ross Reimueller

Ross Reimueller was an American conductor and administrator who played the piano-playing role of Jasbo Brown in Houston Grand Opera's 1976 Porgy and Bess. Trained in piano and conducting at Oberlin College and the New England Conservatory, and later at Tanglewood under Boris Goldovsky, he made his conducting debut in 1963 with La rondine in Denver. He joined the Metropolitan National Opera Company in 1965, went on to lead the New York City Opera, and in 1979 moved to Los Angeles for an administrative post with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, where he also directed more than 650 performances of Evita.
