Antonio Pini-Corsi

An Italian baritone and comic specialist. He made his debut at Cremona in 1878 and spent fifteen years in Italian houses, singing chiefly Rossini and Donizetti. He created Ford in Verdi's Falstaff at La Scala in 1893 and Schaunard in La bohème at Turin three years later, and first sang at Covent Garden as Puccini's Lescaut. At the Metropolitan Opera between 1909 and 1914 he took character parts and created Happy in La fanciulla del West. He sang for the last time in Milan in 1917, in Rossini's Il signor Bruschino.
