Camilla Pasini

An Italian soprano, the first Musetta. The sister of the Wagnerian soprano Lina Pasini-Vitale, she studied at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome and made her debut in the city in 1895 as Inès in L'Africaine. On 1 February 1896, at the Teatro Regio in Turin under Toscanini, she created Musetta in La bohème, and within the year had taken the part to Brescia, Genoa and Rome, singing it at La Scala in 1897. She later toured South America and went on to sing Tosca and La Wally.
