Jolanta Omilian

Jolanta Omilian is a Polish soprano who trained at the Chopin University of Music in Warsaw and won the international vocal competition in Belgrade in 1975, while still a student. She made her debut as Violetta at the Grand Theatre in Warsaw and sang the same part for her international debut at La Fenice, conducted by Bruno Bartoletti in a staging by Gian Carlo Menotti. She settled in Italy and worked on the bel canto repertory with Rodolfo Celletti in Milan. Antonio Braga wrote the part of Anacaona for her in his 1492 epopea lirica d'America.
