Fritz Knöfler
Fritz Knöfler was a member of the Grand Ducal Court Theatre chorus in Weimar, creating one of the four Minnesingers in the premiere of Strauss's Guntram in 1894. He remained with the company for decades: the 1895 personnel roster lists him as the theatre's Inspizient, and by 1919 he was back in the chorus as a first tenor while also serving as its librarian, still living in Weimar the following year.
