Rina Giachetti
Birthplace: Florence, Kingdom of Italy
An Italian soprano, younger sister of the soprano Ada Giachetti. Born in Florence, she began studying at fifteen with Carlo Carignani and made her debut at Zara in 1899 as Micaela. She sang at the Liceu in Barcelona in 1900, in the Naples Le maschere of 1901 and at the San Carlo until 1906, as Tosca, Aida, Mimì and Butterfly. She appeared often at Covent Garden between 1904 and 1908, and in 1905 toured South America with Caruso, creating Fidelia in the final Edgar at Buenos Aires. She later taught singing.
