Emma Decima
A singer whose parts ran from Santuzza, Nedda and Mimì to Ulrica and Erda, and who created Kate Pinkerton in the revised Madama Butterfly at the Teatro Grande in Brescia on 28 May 1904. At the Teatro Regio in Turin she was Flosshilde and the third Norn in Toscanini's Götterdämmerung of December 1895, and on 22 May 1898 she created Grazia in Camillo De Nardis's Stella at Chieti. In the carnival season of 1904-05 at La Fenice in Venice she sang Erda in Siegfried, Lene Armuth in Germania and Emilia in Otello. She was still singing Ulrica in 1914.
