Ettorina De Marzi
A soprano who created Manon in the revised Manon Lescaut, first given at the Teatro Coccia in Novara on 21 December 1893. On 21 March that year she had created Sara in Benvenuto Coronaro's Festa a marina at La Fenice in Venice. In autumn 1894 she sang Alice Ford in Falstaff under Toscanini at Treviso and at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna, where on 1 December she created the title role of Natale Canti's Savitri. She took Alice and Savitri to the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa for the carnival season of 1894-95, where she was warmly applauded as Santuzza.
