Ferdinando Ciniselli
Birthplace: Mortara, Kingdom of Italy
An Italian lyric tenor with a career in Italy, Europe and South America through the 1920s. Born in Mortara, he made his debut at the Teatro Coccia in Novara in 1919 as Alfredo. In 1920 he created Ruggero in the revised La rondine at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo, and sang Pinkerton at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires. He appeared at La Scala between 1923 and 1930, as Fenton, the Duke of Mantua and Tamino, and in Rome, Naples, Madrid and Paris. He recorded for HMV, Columbia, Fonotipia and Parlophon, and died in his home town.
