An Italian baritone from Monticelli d'Ongina, near Piacenza, who studied with Leoni at the Milan Conservatory and made his debut at Crema in 1891 in La forza del destino. At the Teatro Regio in Turin in 1893 he created the Sergeant of the archers in Manon Lescaut and sang in La basoche, and that year toured Brazil in supporting parts. He went on to Rome, Naples, Piacenza and Moscow, sang in Australia in 1901, and in 1903 was Scarpia in Tosca at Faenza and then in San José and Lima. In 1905 he sang Verdi at Turin and Genoa.
