Maria Avezza
An Italian soprano who sang secondary and supporting parts for some thirty years. She probably made her debut in 1902 at Udine as Teresa in La sonnambula, and went on to La Fenice in Venice, to the Teatro Costanzi in Rome, where she was Tebaldo in Don Carlos in 1910, and in 1910 and 1911 to the new Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, often beside Rosina Storchio. At La Scala in 1922 she created the Zelatrice in the revised Suor Angelica, and she was still singing Berta in Il barbiere di Siviglia at Modena in 1931.
