Pietro Audisio

An Italian tenor who spent fifteen seasons in comprimario parts at the Metropolitan Opera. He sang the Messenger in Aida at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna in November 1908, and made his Met debut in Aida at Philadelphia on 9 November 1909. He gave 1,193 performances with the company, most often in La bohème, Aida and Madama Butterfly, creating Harry in La fanciulla del West in 1910 and the song-seller in Il tabarro in 1918, and taking part in the first American Boris Godunov, Der Rosenkavalier and Prince Igor. His last appearance was on 3 May 1924.
